Host Latina Girls Code on your campus
This page explains how principals, STEM leads, and community-school coordinators start a conversation with our team, what we typically need from a host site, and how timing lines up with semesters.
Latina Girls Code partners with schools and nonprofits when leaders want structured, welcoming computer science experiences for girls and young women who are often underrepresented in tech pathways. We coordinate with your front office on rosters, permission slips, and bell schedules so labs start on time and end cleanly.
If you are new to our work, browse the Latina Girls Code home page for the overall mission, then review Programs for typical formats. Open dates and registration windows appear on Events.
How a school partnership usually starts
- Discovery call: We confirm grade bands, approximate group size, and whether sessions should sit in a computer lab, library, or maker space.
- Safety and access: We align on checkout procedures for visitors, Wi-Fi guest policies, and any bilingual notices your district requires.
- Pilot block: Many sites begin with a half-day or four-week after-school block before scaling to larger cohorts.
- Feedback loop: Teachers receive short session summaries so classroom goals stay connected to what students practiced with us.
What to prepare on your side
Reliable power strips, seating that allows students to pair up, and a projected screen help every participant follow along. When hardware kits travel with us, we send a packing list at least ten school days ahead.
When you are ready to pencil dates, use Contact and mention your district, bell schedule, and whether you prefer email or phone follow-up.
